Lily
Town: Newport, Rhode Island
Deaf dog: Lily is a 2 year old Dalmatian/Lab Mix. Her family says "Lily is the greatest! We adopted her from Willing Heart Dalmatians when she was 3 months old. She is very gentle with kids and very smart! When we first got her it was very frustrating. Now, I forget a lot that she's deaf. She knows 20-30 signs is is working on agility and tracking. See Lily on our website. Please feel free to email us for any suggestions/support you need. Lily just turned 2 April Fool's Day!! (we're not sure of her birthday, but it's around then and the day fits her personality!) Living with a deaf dog is a rewarding experience.

Camera Shy

Town: Pawtucket, Rhode Island
Deaf dog: BoBette is a 5 year old French Bulldog. We rescused BoBette from the animal shelter.
The VSA person in charge told me about the little cutie she had just gotten. From where no one knows, she just appeared in the ACO's office over night. We have no history of her at all. We were fascinated with her and adopted her immediately. 5 weeks later our thick brains figured out she was deaf. She is also epileptic. Oh well, that happens, I love her and she is mine in her furever home. She gives lots of love and annoyance to the cats but she just loves us all so much. This group has been a big help in realizing she is just deaf. We have overcome bigger hurdles than this. She is the joy of our lives and makes each day just a little bit more worthwhile.

Update 8/19/09: Bobette passed awhile ago to who knows what... We had a mystery beginning with us and a mysterious passing. I miss her the most. Furry Children should last so much longer in our lives, they pass
To soon.
Human companions: Gail and Husband
Other pets: 2 Vision Impaired cats: Franky & Johnny. Litter mates, thrown away and abused. Lighter fluid thrown on the entire litter and my boys survived but badly vision impared
