Town: Cornwall, Prince Edward Island
Deaf dog: Magnum is a 5 month old Great Dane. Magnum is my
second deaf Dane. My first taught me so much and made my world such
a beautiful place, I wanted to open my heart to another. I found
Magnum in Texas. In the 3 months since he came into my life we have
done pre-novice obedience and are now in novice, he has gotten his
CGN, and we are going to carry on with obedience and rally-o. I
do adore him, he wiggles his way into my heart more and more each
day and makes me so proud. I don't know what I'd do without him.
Deaf dog: Harley, a Great Dane born
on November 11, 1999. I had to say goodbye to Harley in March,
I had a hard time with it, and still do. Silly as it may sound,
it's kind of comforting to have him out there in Internet world.
How do you shrink nearly 12 years into a paragraph and still do
justice to the one you're writing about? I've never had a connection
to anyone that could come close to comparing to the one I had with
Harley. We went everywhere together and were both lost without each
other. We lived alone, he was the one I kissed goodnight, and the
wagging tail I woke up to each morning. We did a lot of traveling,
I could take him anywhere. Aside from my parents, he had more influence
on my life than anyone, he opened my mind and my heart and shaped
me into who I am today. I loved him with all my heart, and I didn't
just say I loved him, I felt it every day, the deepest most undying
love I have ever felt. He was my companion, my friend, my guardian,
my child..my hero. He defined friendship. I am so fortunate to be
able to look back on his life and believe that he always knew he
was loved, just like I did. Mommy loves you Harl.
